Can we jump straight into what it’s like in the US today? It feels like something is broken. It feels just a bit wild and a bit unhinged. I went to New York for two weeks, just … as the … they were coming off the peak of their cases. (It) was really … actually quite depressing. It was really sad to see New York like that. It just feels very surreal.

Are protests being held right across the country now? (We’ve) never seen a situation before where (the protests are) now in all 50 states … this is across the entire United States that people have been gathering and protesting. I’ve never covered a protest that’s run for more than a week before. It’s just unprecedented.
