Jane Lu
Jane Lu founded Showpo in 2010 from her parents’ garage. She’d previously worked in accounting and corporate finance, but after returning from a year abroad, was inspired to ditch the “cubicle life”, so she quit her job to start her own business. What started off with a laptop and two shelves of clothing is now an online global fashion empire, Showpo. Through being disruptive in the retail space and capitalising on the use of social media, Showpo now boasts a cult social following of over 3.3 million engaged followers collectively and has a team of over 90 across Sydney HQ and Distribution Centre. Jane is a 2018 Veuve Clicquot New Generation Awards finalist.
Mikaela Jade
Cabrogal Woman, environmental biologist, and commercial drone pilot, Mikaela Jade is the founder of Indigital. Originally based in Kakadu and more recently relocated to Canberra, Indigital works with some of the most remote peoples on earth using cutting edge digital technologies to translate cultural knowledge within their communities. Indigital showcases Indigenous cultural heritage to visitors in compelling ways and creates bespoke mobile and HoloLens apps for Indigenous organisations, communities and government. This year Mikaela was a finalist in Veuve Clicquot’s New Generation Awards.
Alice Brennan
Alice Brennan is the former CEO of software company SettleIn and a consultant for Fusion Labs, a corporate innovation consultancy. After the 2011 tsunami in Japan, Alice recognised a lack of technological innovations within this realm humanitarian aid organisations in Australia. She founded SettleIn; a social enterprise that created psychologically informed goal-setting technology to help newly arrived refugees settle into their new country. Her leadership of SettleIn saw her listed in Forbes Asia’s 30 under 30 list for social entrepreneurs and named one of 10 young game changers by Vogue. Alice now works as an innovation consultant at Fusion Labs, where she specialises in helping government agencies find innovative solutions to complex social problems.
