In the FW office we’re celebrating the little things that bring us joy, like a dress we’re currently lusting over or a thought-provoking podcast we’re listening to on our morning commute. In other words, what we talk about on Monday morning when we’re making our tea in the staff kitchen. Here, we’ve gathered what we’re loving right now. Get ready to find your new favourite thing.

Corkcicle Poketo Stemless Cup

“Sorry KeepCup, there’s a new kid in town… stays cool for nine hours or hot for three. This means both coffee and wine. Enough said.”

Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj

“The only people I love as much as feminists are comedians so Hasan Minhaj is high up on My List. His new Netflix Show, Patriot Act, covers global politics, news and culture in an incredibly nuanced fashion. He covers one topic a week and tackles everything from censorship in China to Amazon’s ethical dillema to the rise of Supreme and streetwear. In a world of fast news, it’s refreshing to delve into one topic a week and actually ‘get it’ by the end. But I mainly watch it for his clothes. Those cashmere sweaters. Those sneakers. Hasan knows.”

RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek

“Last week I got the low-down from Founder of Mecca Cosmetica, Jo Horgan on her skincare and make-up tips. For the uninitiated, that’s the beauty equivalent of talking gender law with Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Amongst her many product suggestions was RMS Lip2Cheek in ‘demure’ which I am now evangelical about. It’s one of those ‘perfect for every skin tone’ shades and what lazy woman amongst us doesn’t love a two-in-one product?”

The Dropout podcast

The Dropout podcast is the story of Elizabeth Holmes and downfall of Theranos. Holmes was the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire, heralded as ‘the next Steve Jobs’ who ended up facing criminal charges for fraud. I was recommended this series on Saturday and devoured five episodes in one go. I’m hanging out for the next episode to drop on Wednesday.”

Undermined: Tales from the Kimberley

“My friend Nicholas Wrathall directed, co-produced and co-wrote “Undermined”, out in cinemas Feb 21st. It’s a rare glimpse into the vast and stunning Kimberly region that’s under threat from mining, pastoralism and irrigated agriculture driving. The film investigates the politics of an area now branded “the future economic powerhouse of Australia,” and what this means for our First People and their unique cultural landscapes, Indigenous land rights, what will remain of over 200 remote Aboriginal communities.”

Spell & The Gypsy Amethyst Garden Party Dress

“I’m currently obsessed with the entirety of Byron Bay label Spell & the Gypsy’s new Lady Amethyst range, but it’s this dress that gets my heart a-fluttering. The price tag makes me want to cry, but I know it’s worth paying extra for a high quality piece made with people and the planet in mind.”
