The most fulfilling part of working at Future Women is seeing our members share themselves with each other. Women across industries, ages, ethnicities and experiences trading advice and expertise and stories with one another. And as the holiday season is upon us, we thought there would be no better way to help you curate your holiday gift list, than with gifts from Future Women businesses. Consider this a Holiday Gift Guide for Future Women, by Future Women. Help us support the women who support us all year round.
A relatively new beauty brand on the scene, Ultra Violette already has a cult following among Australian women and the FW Team. Founded by Ava Matthews and Bec Jefferd (a Future Women member), these sunscreens are products you can ACTUALLY wear everyday under makeup. We recommend the Queen Screen for the women (and men) in your life who love a little too much time in the sun.
Cascade Street Studios have made big art affordable. Co-founder and Future Women member, Rae Sturm, recommends her favourite piece right now: a tapestry called ‘Hands’. A perfect addition for the home in need of a little love.
Know a friend or relative in need of a break or a little positive affirmation in their life? Future Women member Brooke Maggs runs She Desires – a company focussed on helping women reconnect with themselves. She recently commissioned artist and writer, Meredith Gatson, to produce a set of beautiful affirmation cards. This pack of ten cards gives women permission to rest and reflect.
A favourite of our editor-at-large, Jamila Rizvi, Sparro Designs’ bags are for the busy women in your life – and founded by Future Women member Aime Fitt. “Most functional overnight or I-never-leave-home-without-just-in-case-everything bag I’ve ever owned,” Jamila says.
Signature Leather Black with Rose Gold Bag , Sparro Designs, $599.00
For the jewellery-lover in your life. Future Women member Marika Svikis has been running Sydney-based jewellery label, Svikis, since 2017. Combining her passion for architecture and technology, she creates unique pieces that people love and wear everyday. Her Holiday pick is the new Hexagon Drop earrings in sterling silver.
Little Literature Co. knows ‘if they can see it, they can be it’. Run by Future Women member, Annabel Blake, the company’s multi-award winning card game sparks an interest in learning STEM through storytelling and creative play. The perfect gift for the little girls in your life.
We’re exhausted and we’re sure some of your friends and relatives are too. Future Women member Natajsa Wagner co-founded Alkimista, an essential oil business encouraging women to engage in personal rituals. For those you know in need of a pick-me-up.
For the person in your life who loves a good book, but doesn’t have the time to choose. Future Women member Fiona Glaskin started Bibliophiles, a subscription company curating books for their subscribers. Choose between fiction or non-fiction – or combine both – and subscribe away for a friend or relative in need. The Future Women Book Club reading pack will be available on Bibliophiles soon!
