The numbers continue to count against female start-ups with just 2.19 per cent of global venture dollars directed to female-led start-ups in 2016. A 2017 report also revealed only 17 per cent of venture-backed start-ups were led by women, a dial that hasn’t shifted in five years. While the data proves there’s significant ground to make up, anecdotally the news is better. Finding successful international case studies is a relatively easy pursuit.
