Our online learning programs utilise best-practice delivery methods to ensure outcomes for our learners and partners.

FW is an inclusive, member-led organisation committed to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces. We do this by supporting our women members, training the men they work with, and guiding the employers they work for.

We structure online learning and programs around live facilitation, with each session sharing content tailored for our audience. 

Our online programs offer interactive and collaborative learning experiences among peers, reflective learning opportunities and – at the core of all our sessions – practical takeaways that can be implemented by participants in their work lives, as soon as participants sign off.

OUR ACTIVE LEARNING METHODOLOGY

Live facilitation - synchronous learning

Many of us would be familiar with the experience of signing up for a self-paced online course with pre-recorded videos… before either dropping off without finishing the module, or becoming frustrated that there wasn’t a ‘real’ person to ask for clarification. 

While the flexibility of self-directed learning can be a positive, a lack of accountability and student participation presents major obstacles for effective and impactful learning.

That’s why FW is committed to live facilitation and creating a synchronous learning environment. Online sessions feature experienced facilitators and subject matter experts, speaking live on the topics they know best – from gender equality to diversity and inclusion, from pitching and propositions to the sphere of influence – guiding participants in real time to learning outcomes. 

Interactive and collaborative learning experiences among peers

With a focus on interaction, our online programs are not a one-way lecture. 

In these sessions, facilitators foster a collaborative learning environment through small group exercises and large group discussions, encouraging participants to share their diverse perspectives and experiences. 

We leverage one of the key benefits of socially constructed knowledge in this way: by bringing leaders and emerging leaders from different organisations and industries together to learn from each other.  

Content tailored for the audience

FW courses cover different demographics and stages of career and life – and we don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to learning. Course content is tailored for each cohort undertaking online learning sessions: whether they are early career, mid career or senior leaders. 

If your organisation arranges a private intake in an FW online learning program, you will take part in a session that suits your team’s unique needs. 

Reflective learning opportunities

Throughout our courses, facilitators encourage participants to relate thought-starters and practical takeaways back to their own professional lives – but we don’t take a ‘train and hope’ approach. 

At the end of each program, FW asks participants to share their key takeaways and what they plan to put into practice from the session. Three months later – we get back in touch with participants and ask - did they do what they said they were going to do? 

Keeping everyone accountable is an important part of ensuring our participants are making the most out of the content we develop and present. After all, sometimes even the most active learners need a nudge.

MEASUREMENT AND OUTCOMES

Impact measurement is crucial for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of FW program material. We measure important indicators like participant satisfaction and capability uplift per module delivered, using a retrospective pre- and post-program survey model.  

It’s important for participants to enjoy our programs and rate them as valuable experiences – but it’s even more critical that participants have been challenged, that they have learned something, and that they have a new skill, tactic or idea to take to the workplace tomorrow.

This also allows us to further tailor subsequent programs to ensure participants are receiving maximum value. We use program feedback to continuously improve and ensure our content not only meets the learning needs of participants, but also meets the needs of the larger social and cultural environment.
